Armenia Switches Law Firm in Samvel Karapetyan Arbitration Case

The government has decided not to cooperate with the American law firm Arnold & Porter.

Two weeks ago, the executive had decided to pay the company $3.2 million to defend against an arbitration claim from billionaire Samvel Karapetyan and his family, who are detained in the "Electric Networks of Armenia" case.

On September 4, again without public discussion, the government decided not to work with this company and to transfer the same amount to another company, Foley Hoag LLP.

The justification is that new circumstances have emerged, there is a conflict of interest issue.
