Armenian Deputy FM Calls for Stronger Human Rights Mechanisms at UN Roundtable

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in and delivered a speech at the closed ministerial round-table discussion titled "Promotion and Protection of Human Rights within the Framework of the UN-80 Reforms" in New York within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has disseminated a press release on this.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RA emphasized the primary role of the protection of human rights in the UN system as a guarantee of progress in the fields of peace, security, and development. Emphasizing the strengthening of early warning and prevention mechanisms, the Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the need to develop capacities in addressing human rights violations and protecting vulnerable groups.
Robert Abisoghomonyan also highlighted the need for funding for the protection of human rights, aimed at rapid response to violations and prevention of further crises, as well as ensuring accountability and justice. The Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the RA to cooperate with international partners in strengthening human rights.
