To solve the problem of air pollution in Armenia, strict legislative regulations are expected in the near future, which will apply to old cars, the work of construction companies, and the operation of mines. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, announced this during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
According to him, the level of air pollution is high throughout the republic, and in Yerevan, due to the city's basin-like location, the indicators have increased several times. Simonyan recalled that the Prime Minister has already instructed to create a working group that will deal with solving the problem.
"I think that we have taken this problem very lightly. It's our fault, all of our fault, in matters related to climate and ecology," Simonyan said.
According to him, there will be legislative initiatives in the future that will inevitably affect certain groups, but they are important for protecting the health of the residents.
