Armenia and Pakistan Officially Establish Diplomatic Relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, have signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan.
The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the SCO summit held in the city of Tianjin, China.
With the signing of the communiqué, Armenia and Pakistan are establishing diplomatic relations. The governments of the two countries strive to develop friendly relations in accordance with the UN Charter, including the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, exclusion of aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality, mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.
The governments of Armenia and Pakistan have agreed to exchange Representatives and to provide each other with the necessary support for the implementation of diplomatic relations on the basis of reciprocity in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and international customary practice.
