On September 19, the 11th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in a remote format. The session was co-chaired by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.
As a result of the session, the Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries signed a protocol that addressed agenda issues of bilateral relations, including cooperation in the trade and economic, high technologies, transport, tourism, healthcare, and education sectors. The Republic of Armenia supports the project of creating a multimodal freight transport route along the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route, said Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in his speech.
"In parallel, freight transportation is already being carried out along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route, which testifies to the growing interest in expanding transport and logistics ties between our countries. I believe that these freight shipments can become regular, especially considering the potential interest of Armenian entrepreneurs in the opportunities of the Khorgos International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation on the Kazakh-Chinese border," noted the RA Deputy Prime Minister, emphasizing that the development of interregional transport and logistics infrastructures is also important for Armenia in the context of the implementation of the "Crossroads of Peace" project.
