Armenia, Kazakhstan to Deepen Economic and Logistics Ties

The official visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, to Kazakhstan is set to mark the start of a new phase of economic cooperation between the two countries. Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to sign more than a dozen documents, in which agreements aimed at the development of logistic and trade relations will play a key role.
This was announced to journalists by the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan. He emphasized that there is a huge, yet unrealized potential for transit and economic cooperation between the two countries, which should be actively used by businesses.
"The transit potential is very large and should be used by economic operators. We will try to provide an incentive for this to happen," Grigoryan noted. According to him, the creation of alternative logistics routes is of strategic importance, as it is the logistics costs in international trade that play a large role in the competitiveness of goods. "In this sense, finding logistic solutions with Kazakhstan provides a very big opportunity," he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister also stressed that new logistics solutions directly affect market prices, at least restraining their growth and creating a more stable environment.
In this context, the TRIPP and "Crossroads of Peace" projects put forward by Armenia are of particular importance. Mher Grigoryan reaffirmed that they have serious regional significance and their implementation will dramatically change the logistics landscape throughout the region. "When we bring these projects to completion, you will feel what adaptations are taking place in the region in a logistical sense. It is impossible for the Crossroads of Peace not to have great logistical significance in a regional sense," he said.
Mher Grigoryan assured that Kazakhstan will also be one of the beneficiaries of the "Crossroads of Peace" project. These and other trade and economic issues will be at the core of the negotiations with the Kazakh partners, with the aim of strengthening economic ties between the two countries with practical steps, added the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.
