The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, during a working visit to the Italian Republic on November 7, 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on expanding cooperation between the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the General Military Prosecutor's Office at the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Italian Republic with the latter's head, Maurizio Block.
The signing ceremony was attended on the Armenian side by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Italian Republic, Vladimir Karapetyan, the Military Prosecutor of the RA and Deputy Prosecutor General, Grigor Elizbaryan, and the Deputy Prosecutor General, Yeghiazar Avagyan, among others.
Anna Vardapetyan congratulated those present on the signing of the Memorandum and emphasized that the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia strives to ensure close cooperation with international and regional professional structures, as well as with the prosecutor's offices of other states.
"This cooperation allows for bringing the professional capabilities of prosecutors closer to international standards, as well as ensuring faster and closer cooperation with our foreign partners within the framework of specific criminal cases," noted the RA Prosecutor General, adding that the signing of the document is the result of an agreement reached with Maurizio Block in Armenia in 2024.
"The purpose of the Memorandum is to expand the framework of effective cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the General Military Prosecutor's Office at the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Italian Republic in areas of common interest in the field of criminal prosecution in military cases. By signing this Memorandum, we further strengthen our already established cooperation and commit to implementing more targeted and multifaceted cooperation in the future," emphasized Anna Vardapetyan.
The areas of cooperation enshrined in the Memorandum are extensive. They include, among other things, the provision and exchange of information on legal acts and practical activities.
