Armenia, Italy Discuss Social Protection Cooperation

The priorities of the labor and social protection sector of Armenia and Italy were discussed. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan, as part of his visit to Italy, met with the Minister for Disabilities of the Republic of Italy, Alessandra Locatelli.
As reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the priorities of the labor and social protection sectors of the two countries were discussed. In particular, the importance of carrying out necessary work and exchanging experience in the process of improving services provided to persons with disabilities was emphasized. In this context, cooperation and exchange of experience with Italy were highlighted in the areas of constructing small community group homes, ensuring employment, and promoting inclusion for persons with disabilities.
The Minister for Disabilities of the Republic of Italy, Alessandra Locatelli, presented the state programs implemented in her country for vulnerable groups, noting that the basis for their effectiveness is the interaction between the state and communities.
At the core of the programs implemented in the field of persons with disabilities, the interlocutors emphasized ensuring equal opportunities and conditions, an accessible environment, and their participation in various sectors to create a more prosperous and inclusive environment.
During the meeting, the implementation process and future actions stemming from the memorandum of cooperation signed between the two ministries were also discussed. The memorandum was signed within the framework of the conference "Uniting for Social Justice" held in Yerevan.
