Armenia Interested in Iranian Liquefied Gas, Minister Says

RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Deputy Minister of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar on September 10. The minister informed about this on his social media page.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, Deputy Ministers Narek Hovakimyan and Edgar Zakaryan, as well as the Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran Hayk Nazaryan.
Welcoming the guest, the minister emphasized the development of the close partnership formed in the economic sphere between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Reference was made to the possibilities of future cooperation, which include: expansion of trade in oil and oil products, development of infrastructure for the supply of liquefied and natural gas, joint investments in the energy sector, effective use of regional transport and logistics hubs ("North-South", "Crossroads of Peace")," the minister wrote.
"I noted that Armenia is interested in high-quality and competitively priced Iranian liquefied gas, which can become the basis for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, while at the same time contributing to the strengthening of the country's energy security."
