Armenia and India Sign 2026 Defense Cooperation Program

On October 23, RA-India defense consultations took place in the city of Hyderabad, India, in the format of the joint working group on bilateral defense cooperation issues formed last year. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Defense. The consultations were headed by the Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of the RA Ministry of Defense, Levon Ayvazyan, and the Joint Secretary for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of India, Vishwesh Negi. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to India, Vahagn Afyan, also participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the 2025 cooperation program and emphasized the need to include a number of new areas in next year's program.
Opinions were exchanged on regional and international security issues. The parties informed each other about the latest developments in the armed forces of the two countries.
At the end of the event, the 2026 cooperation program between the Ministry of Defense of the RA and the Ministry of Defense of India was signed, which includes a number of events in the areas of high-level and expert mutual visits, military education, military-technical, combat training and exercises, exchange of experience, and a number of other fields.
An agreement was reached to hold the next session in the Republic of Armenia.
