Armenia, Georgia to Deepen Cooperation in Education

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the RA, Zhanna Andreasyan.
The Prime Minister welcomed his visit to Armenia and his participation in the "Academic City Armenia: International Forum of Knowledge" conference. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the consistent development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, and humanities, including close dialogue and exchange of experience in the implementation of reforms.
Givi Mikanadze noted that he was impressed with the "Academic City" project and mentioned that they have active cooperation with their Armenian colleagues, various joint programs are being implemented, and new projects are being developed.
The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia also visited the National Assembly and met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports of the National Assembly, Sisak Gabrielyan. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of ESCS, Artur Martirosyan. Both sides noted that official mutual visits and jointly implemented educational and cultural events will strengthen and bring the relations between Armenia and Georgia to a new quality.
Within the framework of his visit to Armenia, the delegation headed by Givi Mikanadze was also hosted at Yerevan State University. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of ESCS, Artur Martirosyan, the Rector of YSU, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, and the professorial-teaching staff of the Faculty of History. The delegation was presented with the work being done at YSU for the development of Georgian studies and the noticeable increase in students' interest in this subject year by year.
