17 SEP 2025 08:40
On September 16, political consultations were held in Paris between the foreign policy departments of Armenia and France, led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RA, Vahan Kostanyan, and the Director of the Directorate for Continental Europe of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Brice Roquefeuil. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA.
Cooperation programs established between the two countries in the fields of economy, infrastructure, defense, and culture, the prospects for their development and expansion, and the existing cooperation in international organizations and other multilateral platforms were discussed. In this context, the necessity of constantly supporting each other, as well as making additional efforts to bring positions closer on issues that are sensitive and of particular importance for both countries, was emphasized.
Issues related to the RA-EU partnership agenda were addressed. In this context, the positive role of France in expanding and promoting this agenda was particularly stressed.
Detailed discussions were also held on the steps taken by both sides towards establishing a strategic partnership between Armenia and France.
The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the context of the holding of two major international events in Armenia next year: the European Political Community Summit and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
Views were exchanged on the most notable regional and international topics. Reference was made to the agreements reached in Washington within the framework of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Armenia-Turkey normalization process.
