The authors of the International Republican Institute's (IRI) research also touched upon Armenia's EU membership prospects, seeking to find out how ordinary citizens would vote if a referendum on the issue were held next Sunday.
According to the poll, 49 percent of Armenians would vote in favor of EU membership, while 15 percent would vote against. Another 31 percent indicated they would not participate in the vote at all.
Notably, compared to a survey conducted last September, the number of supporters for EU membership in Armenia has decreased by about eight percent.
The researchers also addressed Armenia's foreign partners. It turns out that a vast majority of Armenians—89 percent—have a positive view of relations with France, 90 percent with India, and 85 percent with Iran. Relations with Russia are considered poor by 55 percent of Armenians.
Only 43 percent of respondents believe that relations between Yerevan and Moscow can be described as positive. According to the IRI, the three countries with the worst relations with Armenia are Turkey, Israel, and Azerbaijan.
