On the occasion of International Students' Day, the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, sent a congratulatory message to the students, emphasizing their role in the development of the state and presenting the key reforms being implemented in the sector. In her speech, the Minister stressed that universities and students have historically been the driving force behind the development of civilizations.
In this context, the modernization of the higher education system is considered a vital necessity to ensure competitive education for present and future generations. Special attention was paid in the message to the financial support of students. A multi-level scholarship system is planned, which will allow for the implementation of targeted programs for different groups.
"The RA government is guided by the commitment that no student with proper academic performance should stop studying or drop out of the educational system due to financial problems," noted Zhanna Andreasyan.
In addition to legislative changes, strengthening the link between education and the economy is also important. For this purpose, it is planned to regulate the field of creating university incubators, which will give students the opportunity to meet employers and shape their future activities. One of the long-term plans is the "Academic City" project, which the government is consistently promoting. It aims to create a world-class educational and scientific center, making higher education competitive not only for Armenian but also for international students.
