On November 11, a private meeting between RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen took place in Copenhagen. Following this, the ministers' discussion continued in an expanded format with the participation of the delegations of the two countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The interlocutors discussed in detail the entire bilateral agenda between Armenia and Denmark, agreeing to promote the deepening of the partnership through active political dialogue, economic initiatives, and initiatives in other areas of mutual interest.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Lars Løkke Rasmussen discussed practical opportunities for expanding cooperation, including specific potential projects in business ties, investment promotion, innovation, renewable energy, and other fields. Both sides emphasized that, despite the geographical distance, Armenia and Denmark are close to each other in their shared commitment to democratic principles and the development of like-minded partnerships. Minister Mirzoyan highlighted the importance of Denmark's continued support for the path of democratic development adopted by Armenia, expressing gratitude for Armenia's inclusion in the "New Democracy Fund 2023–2026" program initiated by Denmark.
The ministers discussed the work aimed at deepening the RA-EU partnership, taking into account Denmark's current presidency in the Council of the EU. Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated his Danish counterpart on the successful organization of the European Political Community summit, highly appreciating the readiness expressed by the Danish partners to exchange experience and cooperate within the framework of preparations for the upcoming EPC summit in Yerevan.
Both sides noted with satisfaction the active dynamics of the development of cooperation in the Armenia–Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8) format.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on regional issues. In the context of the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the possibilities of unblocking communications were addressed, the effective implementation of which will also contribute to the expansion of the Europe-Central Asia communications network.
RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The memorandum emphasizes the importance of further deepening the Armenia-Denmark and Armenia-European Union partnerships. The two countries will continue their efforts aimed at Armenia's gradual approximation to EU standards, and the strengthening of its sovereignty, resilience, and democratic institutions.
In parallel with regular political consultations, the two countries will encourage dialogue and cooperation in the green transition, renewable energy sources, human rights, culture, and other areas of mutual interest.
