Armenia, China to Boost Law Enforcement Cooperation

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Artur Poghosyan, met with the Minister of Public Security, Wang Xiaohong, in Beijing as part of his official visit to the People's Republic of China. The Investigative Committee reports this. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Armenia to the PRC, Vahe Gevorgyan.
Artur Poghosyan praised the role of the 2025 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum as a global platform for cooperation between law enforcement agencies and expressed gratitude for the invitation to participate, as well as for the warm reception.
The Minister of Public Security of the PRC emphasized the readiness of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for cooperation, noting that the Armenian-Chinese strategic partnership is based on friendship, mutual respect, and trust, covering various areas, including ensuring public security and the interaction of law enforcement agencies.
In his speech, the Minister highlighted the recent visits of high-ranking Armenian officials to China and noted that the Chinese side is ready to implement important agreements with the Armenian side and create avenues for cooperation in the law enforcement and security sectors.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the fight against transnational crimes, particularly the illicit trafficking of drugs, and also exchanged views on improving the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in the fields of cybercrime and high technologies, uniting efforts to ensure the safe advancement of joint projects, and deepening cooperation in the field of investigator training to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations from a new starting point.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee and the Minister of Public Security reached an agreement on the institutional strengthening of existing relations and the expansion of practical cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Armenia and the People's Republic of China.
