Armenia's Academic City Master Plan Nears Approval

A consultation was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during which the master plan of the Academic City was discussed.
The Office of the Prime Minister of the RA reports that representatives of Gmp International GmbH Architects and Engineers, the company designing the master plan, noted that as a result of previous discussions, certain changes have been made to the plan, taking into account the proposals and observations presented.
Specifically, the changes relate to the position of clusters, green areas, infrastructure, etc. In this context, reference was made to the project's master plan, the maximum realization of the potential of the Academic City's territory, taking into account the city's future expansion possibilities.
Issues related to the transport hub planned in the master plan were discussed. It was noted that all transport communications will be connected in the Academic City.
An exchange of views took place on the development of infrastructure, particularly the upcoming work in the direction of electricity, water, and gas supply. At the same time, it was emphasized that construction in the Academic City will begin in phases, with the construction of the technology cluster planned to start first.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed to bring the plan to a final form and submit it for approval. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of developing a greening project to implement the process in phases.
Stressing that the Academic City project is a strategic priority for the Government of the RA, the head of the country gave specific instructions to those responsible for the implementation of work in a number of directions to carry them out according to a relevant schedule.
