Armenia's 2026 Budget: Health Insurance and Social Aid

In 2026, the comprehensive health insurance system will finally be implemented, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan promised at the government session on September 25. Incidentally, the government had planned to introduce the Health Insurance System in phases starting from 2024.

In 2026, the social support program to cover the living expenses, including housing and other costs, of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh will continue, amounting to 55 billion drams.

9.7 billion drams will be allocated for the employment support program for individuals with bad credit histories who have been left out of the labor market.

4.9 billion drams will be allocated for the design and construction of the Academic City.

It should be recalled that the Government approved the Draft Budget-2026 at its session on September 25. The Minister of Finance commented on a number of figures while presenting the draft.
