MP Aren Mkrtchyan Resigns, Expected to Become Lori Governor

The parliamentary powers of Aren Mkrtchyan, a deputy of the "Civil Contract" faction of the RA National Assembly, have been terminated. "Based on the deputy's letter of resignation and guided by the requirements of Article 154, Part 1, Clause 6 and Article 155, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Constitutional Law 'Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly', to consider terminated the parliamentary powers of deputy Aren Mkrtchyan, elected from the national electoral list of the 'Civil Contract' party," is stated in the protocol signed by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan.

To recall, earlier, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had informed journalists that Aren Mkrtchyan would be appointed governor of Lori province.
