Illegal Logging in Ijevan Causes Over 43M Dram in Damage

Based on data received from the National Security Service of Armenia, within the framework of criminal proceedings being investigated in the Investigative Committee, employees of the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mining conducted inspections in the 5th and 6th sections of the "Ijevan Forestry" and the 5th and 6th sections of the "Khachardzan Forestry" of the "Hayantar" SNCO's "Ijevan Forest Economy" branch. The Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mining of the RA has released a statement about this.
The inspections covered the period from August 2024 to July 2025 inclusive. As a result, 693 illegally cut trees of various types and diameters were discovered and recorded.
The amount of damage caused to the flora was more than 43 million drams.
The results of the inspection have been transferred to the Investigative Committee of the RA.
