Today, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, participated online in the 35th session of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, held in the Republic of Tajikistan.
In her speech, the Prosecutor General of Armenia addressed current issues of confiscation of illegally obtained property, presenting Armenia's experience and recorded results in this context.
According to Anna Vardapetyan, over the past 3 years, within the scope of powers for confiscating property of illegal origin, among other things, 9 settlement agreements have been concluded. "Within the framework of international legal cooperation on criminal cases, we have succeeded in identifying criminally obtained assets in a number of states, which are currently frozen," added the RA Prosecutor General. Concluding her speech, she noted that this process is one of the priorities of the Prosecutor's Office, aimed at both preventing crimes and compensating for the damage caused to the state and communities, including the return of property and assets stolen from Armenia.
