Speaking to the participants of the 6th Caspian Business Forum organized by the Caspian Policy Center, dedicated to the topic "Along the Middle Corridor: Connectivity, Finance, and Energy," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the "Middle Corridor" as a strategic project covering a wide geographical area.
He described it as a reliable and safe route that connects Europe to Asia through the Caspian Sea, being the shortest and most optimal route for cargo transportation. Aliyev specifically noted that on August 8 of this year in Washington, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, a joint declaration was signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In this context, he emphasized that the document laid the foundation for the creation of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP), which will ensure an unimpeded connection between the main territory of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that TRIPP will become an important section of the "Middle Corridor," connecting Asia and Europe, expanding the possibilities of international transit transportation, contributing to the well-being of the countries of the region and their integration into global supply chains.
Aliyev added that the route will create wide opportunities for the transportation of energy resources, the export of electricity, especially renewable energy, as well as the laying of fiber-optic lines, which will give a new impetus to making the region a center of international trade and digital communication.
The head of Azerbaijan stressed that Baku has mobilized all efforts for the speedy implementation of this route.
