Air pollution has reached threatening levels

For a month now, as a result of the ongoing fire at the largest landfill in Nubarashen, Yerevan has been covered in heavy and dangerous smoke. Experts warn that the air pollution in the capital exceeds the norm multiple times, which is a serious health threat. The government promises to install new monitoring stations by 2030 to control air quality not only in Yerevan but also in the regions. However, environmentalists emphasize that the key solution to the problem is greening programs, without which the capital continues to lose its "oxygen lungs."
