Afghanistan Imposes Sweeping Internet Ban

High-speed and wireless internet is no longer available in Afghanistan. Currently, ten out of the country's 34 provinces are without internet access. This is reported by 1tv.ru.
The total ban was imposed by the country's supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada. Negotiations by a government delegation that arrived from Kabul for a consultation with the supreme leader in Kandahar ended unsuccessfully.
It is noted that a company will be established in the country that will provide internet access exclusively to state institutions and diplomatic missions. In addition, civil servants will no longer be able to use smartphones during work, and a corresponding permit will be required to use messengers.
On September 16, it became known that the supreme leader had imposed a ban on the use of Wi-Fi in one province, justifying the decision as a measure to "prevent immorality."
