According to the New York State Police, five people were killed in a tour bus crash on the New York State Thruway in western New York, reports BBC News. Police said the group was returning to New York City from Niagara Falls on the US-Canada border.
Witnesses saw the vehicle lose control and overturn near the town of Pembroke, about 30 miles east of Buffalo. Police confirmed that there were 52 people on the bus at the time of the crash, ranging in age from 1 to 74. According to an official source, most of the victims were tourists from India, China, and the Philippines.
