29 Arrested in Yerevan Raids; Weapons and Drugs Seized

Within the framework of crime prevention measures, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police continues its work in the direction of detecting and seizing illegal weapons and ammunition. Based on operational data received by the Police, another measure was carried out by the officers of the Criminal Police.

Officers of the Criminal Police General Department and the Yerevan City Department had received operational information about a number of individuals who were illegally keeping weapons and ammunition at home and in their cars.

As a result of large-scale operational-investigative measures, criminal proceedings were initiated, within the framework of which searches were conducted at 47 addresses and in 9 vehicles belonging to various individuals.

Pistols, ammunition, as well as drugs—cocaine, marijuana, and methadone solution—were found.

29 individuals were arrested and brought to the preliminary investigation body.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
