23 Citizens Arrested Near Gyumri City Hall

23 people have been arrested from near the Gyumri city hall and taken to regional divisions of the Community Police. The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the media about this.

It is recalled that today, law enforcement officers conducted investigative actions at the Gyumri city hall, which was followed by the arrest of Vardan Ghukasyan.

Eight people have been arrested in the criminal proceedings, including Ghukasyan and the city's chief architect, Henrik Gasparyan.

The situation in Gyumri was extremely tense today; citizens had gathered near the Gyumri city hall in support of Ghukasyan. The main reason for the dissatisfaction of the gathered crowd and the scuffle with the security forces was the fact of Vardan Ghukasyan's arrest. He was taken out of the municipality building by law enforcement officers through the back entrance and quickly removed.
