The night and morning of November 26 turned into a real nightmare for the residents of Zaporizhzhia. According to local authorities, the city was subjected to a massive attack by "Shahed" type unmanned aerial vehicles. According to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia military administration, a total of 11 strikes were carried out on the city, which led to serious destruction, and various sources put the number of casualties at up to two dozen.
As a result of the strikes, large-scale destruction was recorded in three different districts of the city. Not only infrastructure but also residential buildings were targeted. According to the latest data, 31 multi-story buildings and 20 private houses were damaged. The geography of the destruction shows that the strikes covered various civilian objects, including a dormitory of an educational institution, shops, gas stations, enterprises, and other non-residential areas. The attack did not pass without human losses and injuries. While initially four casualties were reported, this number later increased sharply. According to the latest data from Ivan Fedorov, 18 people were injured. The composition of the wounded is noteworthy: 12 of them are women, and 6 are men.
Against the backdrop of these tragic events, the speech of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy at the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting becomes particularly significant. He addressed the international community, stressing that the war unleashed by Russia is not over yet.
In his speech, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia strikes Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure every day, without interruption. The President called on partners not to forget the importance of defense support, despite the fact that Washington is very actively promoting a peace agenda and Moscow is sending signals that it is not against peace. But, at the same time, the pressure from the Russian side on the front is not weakening.
"While diplomatic efforts to end the war continue, it is important for partners to remember that Ukraine still needs sufficient defense support," Zelenskyy noted.
