17,180 People Granted Armenian Citizenship in 9 Months

In January-September 2025, by decree of the President of the Republic, citizenship was granted to 17,180 individuals. We have a 15.5% increase in the granting of citizenship. The citizenship of 3,166 individuals was terminated. Here, too, we have an increase of 10.7%. The numbers were presented in the National Assembly by the Minister of Internal Affairs.

"Referring to the process of acquiring citizenship by persons forcibly displaced from Karabakh, I must note that as of October 30, 2025, 21,916 displaced persons have applied for citizenship. As of the same date, by presidential decree, 14,064 individuals have already been granted Armenian citizenship, and 7,191 minors have also acquired citizenship through the passport issuance process. I must also note that we have other pending cases that are under consideration. 7,852 cases are currently in process," detailed Arpine Sargsyan.
